What numbers should I include in my barcode search?
A barcode, or UPC code, is a 12 or 13 digit code (usually 12 in the united states) and looks like the following:

To search for a UPC, you must use ALL the digits, including any single digits to the left or right of the barcode. For example, the correct barcode entry for the above picture is:
0-43396-09774-2
Please note that the dashes are optional.
Books have multiple barcodes on the back, and an ISBN number. Which should I use?
Please use the 13 digit barcode number. It will always start with '978' for a book and be followed by a portion of the ISBN number. Some books will have a secondary barcode to the left or right with only 5 digits. Please ignore this barcode.
I cant find the barcode on the item I want to search for. What should I do?
First, make sure the item you wish to search for isn't a specialty item unique to one store. Often, specialty items only available in one store will have a store specific barcode, and not a UPC code, so it cannot be searched.
If the item is not a store specific item, but you cannot find the barcode (or it is unavailble, like when shopping for a TV), you can search by product description. Please be specific in your search terms, and include the manufacturer name and product number (if availbale) or a good description.
Ive found an item result with a price I like. How do I save this result?
You can click on the result in the listing to bring up the details page. Here, you can view the website of the online retailer to buy the item immediately, or (if you are logged in to fastpricecheck) you can click 'save item' or 'email and save' to save the item in your saved searches list, and optionally email the result to yourself. After you have saved the item, you can remove it from the saved results from the details page accessible through the saved products list.
What are Preferred Stores? How do I change them?
When we find the item you are searching for at one of your 'preferred' stores, we show these results in a seperate listing from all other results. Any online store can be made a 'preferred' store. Simply go to your account homepage, select the 'change preferred stores' link, and add (or remove) preferred stores from the list. You will need to re-run any searches for the settings to take effect.
I found more items on ebay than your site was able to uncover
eBay items are listed by individual users, and as a result the titles and descriptions of items vary widely. We use the full product title returned from your search to find products on eBay in order to maximize the probability that we find results that match the search.
